The plan costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year and includes benefits such as a $0 delivery fee on eligible purchases, up to 10% off eligible deliveries and pickup orders, and average monthly savings of $25.

How To Cancel an Uber One Subscription—Explained

Uber One lets you cancel your membership in two ways, depending on how much time you have left on your subscription:

  1. Via the Uber app
  2. By contacting customer support

If you have at least 48 hours remaining on your subscription, you can cancel via the Uber app by taking the steps below:

  1. Launch the Uber app on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the profile icon.
  3. Tap Uber One.
  4. Scroll down and select Manage Membership.
  5. Tap End Membership and select End Membership again to cancel your subscription.

If you have less than 48 hours before your next billing cycle, it's advisable that you contact Uber One's customer support through the official website

Can You Cancel Uber One Free Trial?

Yes—you can cancel your Uber One free trial whenever you wish. However, it's best to cancel it at least 48 hours before your trial ends to avoid being charged. Keep in mind that after canceling your free trial account, you'll lose access to your membership benefits right away.

Does Uber One Offer a Refund After Canceling?

Unfortunately, Uber One doesn't offer refunds for canceled subscriptions. According to their Terms and Conditions, all payments made are non-refundable and non-transferable. They also can't be refunded on a pro-rata basis for cancellations initiated during a billing cycle. If you incur unauthorized charges, you're advised to report them through the Uber Help page within 60 days.

Potential Difficulties When Canceling a Subscription

Canceling a subscription, in most cases, is as simple as signing up for it. Unfortunately, some companies may require you to go through a maze of steps when canceling to keep you subscribed for longer and prolong your payments.

Some companies may use guilting language or manipulative designs to convince you not to cancel your subscription. Others go to extremes and require you to visit their physical location in person or call customer support to stop your subscription. Even if you follow all the required instructions, you could still incur unwelcome charges due to a technical glitch, miscommunication, or an honest error.

The most effective way to avoid these difficulties and limit excessive charges is to pay for your subscriptions with Privacy Virtual Cards, including everyday platforms like Dropbox, NordVPN, or Adobe and streaming platforms like Philo, PlayStation Plus, and Apple TV

Virtual cards are linked to a real bank account or debit card but mask your financial information with unique card numbers at checkout, adding an integral layer of security around your transactions. Besides protecting your sensitive data from potential misuse, virtual cards also have additional features that give you more spending control, especially if you choose a comprehensive virtual card provider like Privacy.

Enjoy Next-Level Spending Control With Privacy Virtual Cards

You can add your financial information to Privacy and generate virtual cards to protect your funds against unwanted charges. With Privacy, you have two types of virtual cards, as explained in the table below:

Card Type Single-Use Merchant-Locked
What It's Ideal for This card closes a few minutes after completing your first transaction. This makes it ideal for one-time purchases and shopping on websites whose credibility you are unsure of and those you don't plan on visiting again in the near future.  This card "locks" to the first merchant you use it with and automatically declines any subsequent charges from other merchants. It's perfect for your favorite shopping merchants and subscriptions such as Shopify, YouTube Premium, and LinkedIn Premium

Privacy Cards come with the following features to help you manage your subscription payments more efficiently:

  • Card pausing or closing—If you decide to cancel a subscription, pause or close the card you used to pay for it. Privacy will block all charge attempts on the card, allowing you to focus on the cancellation process without worrying about unwelcome charges.
  • Spending limit—When you set a spending limit, you define how much a merchant can bill for their services. This helps you protect your account against potential overcharges, such as price increases you had no prior notification about and double billing as Privacy will decline all transaction attempts above your set limit.

How Privacy Streamlines Online Transactions

As a Privacy user, you also get the following additional features to streamline your online transactions:

  • Browser extension—Enjoy fast and seamless transactions with the Privacy Browser Extension, which auto-completes your virtual card details at checkout. It's available for well-known browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. iPhone and iPad users can also enjoy the autofill experience with the Safari iOS extension.
  • Mobile app—Install the Privacy mobile app on your Android or iOS device and manage your virtual cards on the go. You can create new cards, pause or close existing ones, and receive real-time notifications about your card activity.

Privacy Virtual Cards are issued by Visa® or Mastercard® and are accepted at most merchants and websites, including subscriptions such as Tinder Gold, Xfinity, Amazon Music, and the New York Times.
